Earlier today I sent this message out to those who signed up to attend this Saturday’s meetup:

Unbelievable.  We started this group in October 2007 with only about a dozen or so folks who were interested in blogging, podcasting, and other social media.  I set out at the beginning of this year stating that New Media Cincinnati meetups will be on the second Saturdays of the month in 2009.  Then I saw that the February meetup was on Valentine’s Day. Oh boy. Would anyone come?  Others even questioned whether it was a good idea.

You are unbelievable.  At this moment we have 65 PEOPLE signed up to come to this Saturday’s meetup!! On Valentine’s Day!!

You are receiving this message because you are one of those people.  If you are unable to make it to the meetup, please contact me (e-mail, Twitter, phone call, carrier pigeon, etc.) to let me know, since we now have a waiting list.

I believe we will have some door prizes to give out. If anyone wants to offer up some additional schwag, etc., feel free to contact me.  We will try to set up UStream for the event so that folks who can’t make it can participate, even for just a little bit, online.

Once again, I’m blown away by the way this group has grown.  You guys are phenomenal.
