Quotes:
- “Many of us know someone who is or has been a victim of domestic violence or abuse. We often don’t realize it because victims, out of fear, do all they can to outwardly show those around them that life is normal.”
- “In 2007 I recorded several stories from victims who survived domestic violence and abuse and released them as a series on my internet radio show, Journey Inside My Mind. Domestic violence has been very real and close to my family. “
- “I am outraged, indignant, and concerned by what goes on and was looking for something I could do about domestic violence. Even though I have no affiliation with the National Domestic Violence Hotline, I strongly believe in what they are doing. I recorded the promo spot and have released it on the internet to share with everyone.”
- “The message is simple: Domestic violence and abuse is real. It happens every 15 seconds in the United States. We often don’t know what to do. The National Domestic Violence Hotline has been set up to provide help. Program the number in your cell phone and share it with others. You may not need it now, but you may need it in the future.”
- From the National Domestic Violence Hotline website:
“Until the violence stops, the hotline will continue to answer… One Call at a Time. Help is available to callers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Hotline advocates are available for victims and anyone calling on their behalf to provide crisis intervention, safety planning, information and referrals to agencies in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Assistance is available in English and Spanish with access to more than 170 languages through interpreter services.”

Thanks for your work on this important subject. The audio clip is powerful and the blog post has great information. I also mentioned this post on my blog to try to spread the word as well. http://xrl.us/oui8y
What an important cause, Daniel. I’m afraid that with the worsening economy and the resulting pressure on family finances, more domestic abuse will occur, so this is a timely message to get out. I’ll be playing your promo on my show.
God bless you, Daniel.
Thank you for raising awareness about domestic violence and the National Domestic Violence Hotline. It’s such an important message and a great idea for everyone to program their phones with the hotline number. I don’t know how I hadn’t thought of it before! Especially with my karma. When injustice manifests, I can’t stand by silently, I do something about it. Thank you, Daniel! Because you can never be too prepared. I regret not knowing about the hotline sooner. It’s too late for my friend, Lilly but not for countless other victims in abusive relationships right now. I hope your message reached them. Thank you=)
The time for silence about DV is OVER!! Thank you for joining in this very important fight!! I hope to see more like this EVERYWHERE!!!!
Thanks for sharing this with me Daniel. You did a great job on it.
Daniel – Thanks for sharing and I’ll make sure and share on Girlfriendology. This is an important lesson about caring for each other (kinda like Girlfriendology!) – thanks for reminding us to do that!
Thanks, Debba

Dear Mr. Johnson,
I enjoyed lisening to your blog and I feel blessed to be able to hear your blog. I am happen to be one of the lucky ones who is a survivor of Domestic Violence. I am also a memeber and gradute of Women In Transition survivor.
I can not begin to tell you how much, there love and support has helped me and my sisters through such difficult times. Many years ago, I was severly abused and until this very day, I continue forward to receive my justice. I pray that one day my government will finally hear me.
Thank you again,
With warmth and respect,
Rosa
